Samreen Faraz

Registered Provisional Psychologist

Samreen (she/her) holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, complemented by an interdisciplinary foundation in Public Health and Neuroscience. Her clinical experience spans health care and social justice settings, where she has focused mainly on neurodiversity support and assessment (Autism & ADHD), trauma assessment and support, and crisis intervention. Grounded in a philosophy of growth and empowerment, Samreen is a passionate advocate for BIPOC communities, neurodiverse individuals, and those affected by domestic violence and mental health challenges.


Samreen’s counselling practice incorporates a strengths-based approach, drawing from a wide range of modalities such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy (SFT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), the Gottman method, and mindfulness-based practices. Embracing a holistic, trauma-informed, and client-centred perspective, she is deeply invested in creating a collaborative and safe therapeutic space where individuals, couples, and families can achieve healing and personal growth. Samreen believes that each person holds the inner wisdom to navigate life's challenges; however, empathic support is often valuable in identifying key areas for growth, developing effective responses, and learning healthy coping strategies. Samreen is currently offering counselling to adolescents(15+), adults and couples, for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, self-exploration, neurodiversity, trauma, stress, parental support, and burnout. 


Samreen offers culturally sensitive counselling in English, Hindi, and Urdu, and is affirming of2SLGBTQ+ identities. She is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8boundaries, also known as Alberta.
