Before completing the intake form to request services at Cultivate, please read the following:
 

Cultivate’s mission is to provide high-quality, accessible mental health services in a way that is sustainable and reduces as many barriers to access as possible. Cultivate’s pay-what-you-can approach to fees is not a separate program, but the values-driven standard by which we operate. We do not receive any government funding, grants, or tax incentives to operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, and do so entirely because of the generosity, values, and commitment to sustainability shared by the practice, its directors, the clinical team, clients, and the community.
 

The long-term success and sustainability of our pay-what-you-can approach is a shared responsibility amongst all members of the Cultivate community. Here is how each group within the Cultivate community participates in keeping things sustainable:

Cultivate

• Maintains financial discipline that keeps costs low

• Contributes top-ups to lower fees to ensure appropriate compensation for therapists, regardless of the fee paid by a client

• Creates a healthy and positive work environment for all team members to support their well-being and to prevent burnout

Clinical Team

• Balances their caseloads to adhere to the internal guidelines for financial sustainability

• Works within their values and capacity to maintain their personal wellbeing, prioritizing self-care and lifelong learning

Clients

• Treats their therapist with respect - adhering to no-show and late cancellation policies, paying invoices promptly

• Chooses their session fee honestly - discloses access to funding sources such as FSCD or insurance coverage, chooses the highest possible fee without sacrificing financial stability, proactively updates their fee if their financial situation changes for better or worse

The standard fee for services at Cultivate is $235/hour and is aligned with the fee schedule set forth by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.

Cultivate is committed to prioritizing the humanity of all clients and reducing or eliminating as many barriers as possible. As such, we maintain an intake process that does not require financial disclosure or a special application to access lower-fee services. You do not need to tell us why you need a fee other than $235, and you do not need to share your financial information with us to be accepted.
