Oluchi Onwukwe

Canadian Certified Counsellor

Oluchi (she/her) is an associate counsellor and holistic health & wellness coach dedicated to transforming lives through empathetic and evidence-based practices. With a wealth of experience spanning roles as a youth and family counsellor, addiction support worker, and psychosocial rehabilitation worker, Oluchi has honed her skills in providing non-judgmental support and therapeutic interventions to diverse populations. Her commitment to empowering individuals impacted by mental health challenges, addiction, and homelessness is unwavering, as she integrates a holistic approach to health promotion and advocacy in all her endeavours.

Oluchi holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Health Studies (BHS) and a diploma in Nursing/Midwifery. Certified as a Holistic Health & Wellness Coach and Master of Life Coach, Oluchi guides clients through goal setting, life purpose exploration, and behaviour change, while fostering a deep sense of empowerment and resilience. Her compassionate approach and proficiency in therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention make her an invaluable asset to her clients and the broader community.

In her practice, Oluchi employs a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, SFBT, Psychoanalysis, DBT, Client-Centred Approach, EFT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Approaches, and Psychodynamic Techniques. Her areas of interest include Anxiety and Stress Management, Depression and Mood Disorders, Trauma Recovery and PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Neurodiversity, Relationship and Family Dynamics, Life Transitions and Adjustment Issues, Self-esteem and Identity Development, Mindfulness and Wellness practice.

 

Her therapeutic approach integrates traditional psychotherapy with complementary practices such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and holistic lifestyle interventions, addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. Oluchi is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel valued, heard, respected, and understood. Her core values of empowerment and compassion guide her practice, as she believes in an individual's inherent resilience and capacity for growth. By fostering self-discovery, empowerment, and skill-building, she empowers clients to become active agents in their healing journey. Oluchi's deep sense of compassion and empathy, coupled with her commitment to cultural competence, ensures a therapeutic relationship built on trust and mutual respect.

Oluchi is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, culturally competent, and available to clients across Canada except for Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI. Assessment services are only available to clients located in Alberta.
