Kathlyn Higgins

Canadian Certified Counsellor

Kathlyn (she/her), is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with over 10 years of experience in social services, navigating a wide range of mental health challenges while respecting each person's unique experiences and cultural background.


Kathlyn's specialties include neurodivergence-affirming therapy, anxiety, relationship issues, depression related to life transitions, senior's issues, anticipatory grief, and ambiguous loss. Kathlyn uses practical approaches and strategies, including non-traditional methods such as short-term solution-focused therapy, storytelling, somatic therapy, mindfulness, drumming, and walk-and-talk. She also provides home and community-based services which can be particularly beneficial to seniors or people who have difficulty travelling. She also offers client-led traditional talk therapy, which focuses on reviewing prior experienced and patterns to help clients modify negative self-concepts and behaviours. Whether you want to explore your life transitions, spirituality, purpose, or meaning, or maybe you need a safe space for check-ins on goal planning, Kathlyn is here to support you in creating and living a life that is consistent with your needs, values, and boundaries.


Counselling services are available virtually, in-person, in home or community locations, and as walk-and-talk in city parks.


Kathlyn is trauma-focused, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and available to clients across Canada except Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI.
