Emily Deboer
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Emily (she/her) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies with a focus inChild and Youth Care Counselling and a minor in Psychology.
Emily’s counselling style is grounded in a strengths-based, collaborative approach. She views clients as the experts of their own lives and works alongside them to uncover and build upon the abilities they already hold. Her priority is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at apace that feels right for them.
Drawing from modalities such as Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EyeMovement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emily tailors each session to the individual needs of the client. She is flexible and integrative in her work, ensuring that therapy feels personalized, accessible, and responsive.
Her areas of interest include neurodivergence, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions. Emily provides counselling to adults (18+) and is passionate about supporting individuals navigating complex emotions, identity exploration, and moments of change.
Emily is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, culturally sensitive, and committed to ongoing learning and reflection. She is located on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8 (Alberta).
