Axel Cuellar
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Axel (he/him) is a registered provisional psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours) from Mount Royal University.
Axel has over 5 years of experience working with neurodivergent children and children who have experienced trauma. Additionally, he has experience working with police officers and offenders.
Axel works from a person-centred approach but draws from several other modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, strength-based and solution focused therapy. He is interested in and open to exploring other approaches and techniques that are tailored to the client.
Axel is interested in working with Indigenous populations, exploring forensic psychology, and working with children, and individuals who have faced traumatic experiences. He is excited to work with people of all ages with a variety of presenting concerns.
Axel is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and culturally sensitive. He is located on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8 boundaries known as Alberta.
