Andrea Pearson

Counselling Intern

Andrea Pearson (she/her) is a Counselling Intern completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at City University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and brings more than 13 years of experience as a Recreation Therapist. Her previous work supporting people through periods of change, adjustment, and significant life transitions shaped her interest in creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and supported.

She believes counselling is a collaborative process. Andrea takes a warm and strengths-based approach, grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice. She hopes to create a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, while working together toward what feels meaningful to them.

People come to counselling for many different reasons, and Andrea recognizes that everyone brings their own experiences, strengths, and perspectives to the process. She values taking the time to hear what brings each person to counselling and what they hope to find from it, while creating a counselling relationship that feels genuine and supportive.

Andrea is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. She is located on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8 within Alberta.
