Amanda MacIver
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Amanda (she/her) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioural Sciences in which she majored in Psychology and Sociology.
We have all been there when the struggles in life begin to accumulate or become too much and we seek to receive the necessary support to help us through. Perhaps you need someone to connect with, hear your story, and help you make sense of your experiences. Amanda strives to build a relationship with you in therapy where you feel safe, heard, validated, accepted, and empowered. You are the centre of your counselling journey, and her approach is to focus on what is best for you and aligns with your personal values and views on health and healing.
Amanda works from a humanistic, person-centred approach that is tailored to you as an individual and your specific needs. Her areas of interest include, but are not limited to, neurodiversity, interpersonal relationships, setting healthy boundaries, attachment styles, parenting support, trauma, spirituality, depression, and anxiety. She has experience with clients with ADHD and ASD, first responder and military clients/family members, and has worked with mothers and their partners through life transitions.
Amanda is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming. She is located on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8 boundaries known as Alberta.
