Allison Lawryk

Counselling Intern

Allison (she/her) is a counselling intern and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and brings a decade of experience supporting children, youth, and families across school, community, and specialized support settings. Throughout her work, she has developed a deep appreciation for the importance of connection, compassion, and creating spaces where people feel seen and heard.

Reaching out for counselling can feel vulnerable. Allison hopes to offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe to be yourself and talk openly. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. She understands that everyone comes to counselling with their own story, experiences, strengths, and way of seeing the world, and she approaches each person with curiosity, compassion, and care. Her goal is to meet you where you are and work alongside you, one step at a time.

Her approach to counselling is warm, person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. Allison hopes to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and where challenges can be explored without judgment. She sees counselling as a collaborative process and aims to support you in better understanding yourself, recognizing the strengths you already carry, and navigating change in ways that align with your own values and goals.

Allison welcomes individuals with a wide range of identities, backgrounds, life experiences, and reasons for seeking counselling. She is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating an inclusive space grounded in respect, curiosity, compassion, and acceptance. Above all, she wants you to feel that who you are and what you bring into the counselling room matters, and that you will be met with genuine care and interest in understanding your experience.

Allison is located on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is currently accepting new clients across Treaties 6, 7, and 8 boundaries known as Alberta.
